ANQRD
Adaptive Athlete Design Concept
Working with Paralympian snowboard cross racer, Tyler Turner, I developed an insole that better secures athletes with leg amputations who use prosthetics into their snowboard boots. This particular project is designed specifically for the Versa Foot 2 adaptive snowboard foot because it is currently the most popular and highest performing snowboard foot. The ANQRD sole insert attaches to the athletes’ prosthetic foot before it is inserted into the boot and then expands to secure their foot in the boot. There is also an adjustable wedge that allows the athlete to customize their stance based on conditions and personal preference. This prototype is rendered and printed in plastic, but for actual use would be manufactured in a lightweight metal such as aluminium.
