OIL PAINTING SERIES

A series of three 38” x 58” oil paintings that depict a landscape reflected on the back of a semi truck. This work highlights the material distortion the transportation industry causes on the land that it crosses. The distortion the metal on the back of the truck causes onto the landscape distorts it in a way that parallels how industry distorts perception of land. These oil paintings came into fruition from various highway drives and subsequent documentation of trucks on the I-5 highway that runs through Oregon.
